This business was a dream for over a decade.
It’s taken time, self-belief & dedication.
But what started as a love for DIY, is now my career, part of my identity, & something I am incredibly proud of.
Prior to launching Her Home Improvements, I worked within the NHS.
I’d had a goal to work in a manual trade since my teens but finding a route in wasn’t straightforward.
Across the years my ideas regarding what I’d like to achieve as a woman in a trade developed.
Not only did I want to do something I was passionate about, I also wanted to help pave the way for other women considering a career in a trade, & make home improvements more accessible to those who would prefer a female working within their home.
In 2017 Her Home Improvements was formed.
Louise did a brilliant job of our bathroom - can't recommend her highly enough. Finish was good and flat kept clean and tidy. Great communication, turned up on time, kept in touch throughout and even received a payment schedule and invoices when needed! Would not hesitate to work with her again.

Louise completed plumbing and tiling work on our bathroom, she was the neatest quietest plumber I have ever had in our home, no loud music, she just got on with it and I am extremely pleased with the result. In addition she is the only plumber whose estimate reduced as she did not use all of the materials she thought she needed!

Louise fixed the mess a previous contractor left our bathroom in. After a horrendous experience we were very cautious about who we went went with, but Louise made us feel completely comfortable by taking the time to explain exactly what needed to be done.
